Pharmacy Technician Certification in North Dakota

The state of North Dakota requires all pharmacy technicians to be registered with the state. Eligibility requirements include one of the following:

  • Completion of an academic program approved by the board of pharmacy;
  • Completion of an on-the-job training program that is directed by the pharmacist-in-charge and approved by the North Dakota board of pharmacy


Either of these programs must be accredited by the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists [ASHP].


All pharmacy technicians must hold PTCB certification in North Dakota with the exception of technicians who registered prior to August 1, 1995.


Annual registration is required and the cost is $35.
